General

Why are there grey marks on my Corningware® casseroles, and how can I remove them?

The grey marks are most likely from metal utensils, which should not be used with CorningWare® dishes. Instead use wooden, nylon or plastic utensils. To loosen food before cleaning, allow the bakeware to soak and then use only plastic or nylon cleaning pads with non-abrasive cleansers. A soft sponge with a non-abrasive cleaner should remove the grey marks.

Why are the new French White® plastic covers preferred over plastic wrap, aluminum foil or plastic containers?

The new gasket-sealing plastic covers feature a unique design to help keep your stored food as fresh as possible. Simply press down the cover and close the steam vent to create a tight seal. Later, simply pop the steam vent to open the seal.

What appliances can Corningware® products be used with?

All CorningWare® bakeware products can be used in conventional, convection and microwave ovens as well as in the refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher.

How can I store my Corningware® products to save space?

The new French White® products are designed to nest within each other. How you stack yours depends on the pieces you own and the size of your cabinets. The new, contemporary glass lids are specially designed to rest on their handles, making stacking easy as well as helping to protect your table from condensation. The handles of the nonstick roasting racks are removable for easy cleaning, and the arms fold underneath. NOTE: Products that are the same size and shape should NOT be nested inside each other as they may get stuck and then be damaged when separated.

What is Pyroceram?

Pyroceram was produced in the 1950’s by Corning Glass during their extensive research on photosensitive glass. S.Donlad Stookey discovered this material accidentally when an overheated piece of glass turned out to be too tough to break when dropped. This novel material has been classified by NASA as a glass-ceramic and is produced by controlled crystallisation. Pyroceram 9606 was certified as a reference standard after being used informally for over 30 years in high temperature applications that demand working at temperatures of about 1000c.
